Datatronic's DR331-5 chip inductor

Datatronic Distribution Inc. offers the low-profile DR331-5 surface-mount inductor in a miniature package for portable electronic equipment. The chip inductor, said to provide excellent EMI protection and reliability, measures 6.7-by-5.6-by-1mm, which makes them a good fit for PDAs, mobile phones, portable hard drives, medical devices and bar code scannersgenerally wherever a high-density circuit-board design is required.

The DR331-5 surface-mount inductor features a wide inductance range from 1.2?H to 330?H, +20 percent. The direct current resistance (DCR) range is 0.08 ohms to 15 ohms maximum, and the current rating is 2.1-0.13A. The operating temperature range is -40C to 85C, making them suitable for use in many rugged environments including industrial controls, medical equipment, instrumentation, computers and telecommunications. Custom specifications are available.

The flat top design of the DR331-5 inductor makes it compatible with high-speed pick-and-place assembly equipment, and it is suitable for high-temperature soldering in accordance with J-STD-020C. The device is available with either gold wraparound or tin wraparound terminations at no additional charge. The inductor is RoHS compliant.

Shipped standard on tape-and-reel with 2,000 pieces per reel, the DR331-05 inductors are priced from 29 cents each in production volumes. Lead time is from stock to six weeks.
