SS-BGA772A-01 socket from Ironwood

Ironwood Electronics' high-performance socket, designated as SS-BGA772A-01, is designed for 1mm pitch, 31mm body, 30-by-30 array ICs. The 10GHz socket footprint requires only a 2.5mm border around the IC.

The SS-BGA772A-01 supports very dense pitch BGA devices. The socket is designed to dissipate up to 7W without extra heat sinks and can handle up to 60W with a custom heat sink. The contact resistance is typically 30 milliohms per ball and the current capacity of each ball contactor is 4A.

The SS-BGA772A-01 is constructed with high-endurance spring pins (pogo) with endurance rated at 500,000 actuations. The temperature range is -40C to 150C so it can be used to test the product over burn-in and high-temperature test applications. The pin inductance is 1.3nH and the mutual inductance is 0.62nH typically. Capacitance-to-ground is 0.45pF and pin-to-pin capacitance is 0.0425pF.

Pricing for the SS-BGA772A-01 socket is $2,931 each in a single quantity.
