Mosel Vitelic Inc. reportedly has shown progress in its solar cell and RFID business, with solar cell production equipment to be prepped up early next year, and volume production of RFID also to begin in the first quarter of 2007.

The company reveals that it has completed the re-modeling of its solar cell plant. Equipment installation is scheduled either in January or February next year. According to Chairman M.L. Chen, production at the plant is expected to commence in March, a month earlier than the company's production schedule for the plant.

Meanwhile, Mosel will set up a new division or subsidiary to expand its product lines for RFID production, which will include associated card reader and antenna segments. The maker is set to establish a new plant in Hsinchu, which is projected to begin production next quarter.
