Tundra Semiconductor Corp. is planning to sample in March a small form-factor 32bit 66MHz synchronous PCI-to-PCI bridge that costs less than $6 each in volume.
Offered in a 128-pin, 23-by-17mm PQFP package, the Tsi340 has sufficient clock and arbitration pins to directly support four PCI bus master devices for a wide range of applications.
The Tsi340 is suitable for communications and networking equipment, video capture cards, embedded video recorders, multifunction printers and network interface cards. The Tsi340 targets both new designs and existing board footprints that use 32-bit 66 MHz PCI-to-PCI bridges.
The Tsi340 is fully compliant with PCI Local Bus Specification Revision 2.3. It is also drop-in, pin-for-pin and software compatible with industry-standard PCI bridges. The device is 3.3V I/O and 5V tolerant.
