Transition Networks joins Carrier Ethernet alliance

Transition Networks Inc. has joined the Metro Ethernet Forum, an industry alliance dedicated to accelerating the worldwide adoption of Carrier Ethernet networks and services.

"We are excited to work alongside our industry colleagues to formulate standards to meet the sophisticated requirements of service providers," said Bill Schultz, VP of marketing at Transition Networks. "We have been providing carriers with quality media conversion solutions to help them leverage their existing network infrastructure for years. We are looking forward to putting our knowledge to work to help the carrier industry take advantage of the benefits of Ethernet."

MEF consists of over 90 organizations including telecom service providers, network equipment/software manufacturers, semiconductor vendors and testing groups. It develops Carrier Ethernet technical specifications and implementation agreements to promote interoperability and deployment of Carrier Ethernet worldwide.
