OLED Q3 revenues reach $132.5M

DisplaySearch, revealed in its latest Quarterly OLED Shipment and Forecast Report that OLED shipments grew to 21.2 million and revenues hit $132.5 million in Q3.

According to the report, OLED displays compete with LCDs in small/medium applications such as mobile phone main displays and sub-displays, MP3s and automotive consoles. OLED shipments increased 33 percent q-o-q due to a 57 percent increase in sub-displays and a 46 percent growth in mobile phone main displays.

In addition, PMOLEDs continue to dominate the market with a revenue share of over 98 percent. There are now thirteen small molecule and two P-OLED producers with small molecule having a 99 percent revenue share, the report said.

Samsung SDI regained the top position in units and revenue in with 5.1 million displays and $32.6 million in revenue. LG Electronics was in second in revenue and third in shipments, while RiTdisplay was third in revenue and second in shipments. Pioneer was in fourth spot and Univision was fift in units and revenue.

Sub-displays and MP3 player displays continued to account for around 90 percent of shipments at 12.5 million and 6.9 million, respectively. Of the remaining applications, main displays and industrial applications showed strong growth, but volume remained low as shown.
