Satyam Computer Services disclosed it will set up a 2,000-seat software engineering center in Malaysia. The new center follows the creation of the company's a 100-seat center in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, three years ago.

An initial agreement was signed between Satyam and Malaysia's Multimedia Development Corp., an agency of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Satyam joins IBM, EDS, Affiliated Computer Services, Intel and other companies that have established development centers in Malaysia. However, local press reports suggested Intel's Cyberjaya facility could be one of the first to be cut.

Dell is also reportedly poised to set up a technology development center in Cyberjaya with about 1,000 full-time staff.
