As part of its plan to offer end-to-end solution delivery capabilities, Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd (L&T Infotech) has acquired electronic design firm GDA Technologies Inc. L&T Infotech is the computer services subsidiary of a construction company in India.
GDA has been concentrating on IP licensing, logic design, physical implementation and embedded software and hardware development. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
"GDA's electronic design capabilities are a key building block in our road map," said A.M. Naik, chairman and managing director of L&T Infotech. GDA will operate as a subsidiary of L&T Infotech and plans to accelerate all its current lines of business. All three of GDA's founders will join L&T's management team.
"This combination of GDA's board and chip-level complex engineering expertise and L&T's middleware and higher-layer software services provides our customers with complete solutions," said A.G. Karunakaran, president of GDA.
Founded a decade ago, GDA has design centers in the United States and India, with a staff of more than 350.
