Wipro Technologies, a global independent R&D services provider and the services arm of Wipro Ltd, has chosen Cadence Design Systems as its primary vendor for VLSI and system design solutions. Wipro Technologies has established Cadence tools and flows across the organization.

Wipro Technologies has also used Cadence technology to expand its EagleWision in-house design methodology for power optimization, and for enhancing its chip-package-board analysis and modeling design approach.

"The Cadence engagement models, and the depth and breadth of technology and its approaches to solving customer problems, made it the front-runner when we decided to enhance our complete product development service for our customers," said A. Vasudevan, vice president of VLSI/system design at Wipro Technologies. "Cadence has provided support for more than a decade as we taped out designs from 0.35 to our recent ASICs in the 90nm and 65nm nodes, reaching complexities of more than 45 million gates."

Cadence recently enrolled over a dozen Indian partners in the Cadence Verification Alliance Program, a global partner network of consulting companies with skills in verification consulting services, verification IP development and training for Cadence customers. The firms include GDA Technologies, Ingot Systems, Innovaide, IntelliProp, KPIT Cummins Infosystems, Manipal Dot Net, Mindtree Consulting, nSys, Oski Technology, Silicon Interfaces, StellarIP, Tata Elxsi, and TES PV Electronic Solutions.
