Low-jitter clock oscillators suit mass storage nets

Raltron Electronics Corp. has released a family of high-frequency clock oscillators with low-jitter performance. The Pb-free, RoHS-compliant CS9 (3.3V, LVPECL), (3.3V, LVDS), CSP (2.5V, LVEPCL) and CLP (2.5V LVDS) are designed specifically for use in mass storage networks, Fibre Channel and Ethernet applications.

The clock oscillators offer frequencies of 106.25MHz and 425MHz for Fibre Channel; 125MHz and 312.5MHz for GbE; 156.25MHz, 250 MHz and 644.5312MHz for 10GbE; and 155.52MHz, 311.04MHz and 622.08MHz for SONET frequencies—all with a low jitter of less than 1ps RMS. The devices are packaged in a 7-by-5mm case size. The operating temperature range is -40° to 85°C. Packaging is 1,000 units per reel.

Deliveries for samples are two to three weeks and six to eight weeks for larger orders. Pricing for a CS9 device is $8 each in quantities of 10,000.
