1U powershelf supports standard 19-inch racks

Doing away with the need for a custom chassis for multiple supplies, C&D Technologies' S1U-3X powershelf, in two versions, accommodates up to three of the company's D1U AC/DC front-end power supplies in parallel.

The 1U-high powershelf is fully compatible with standard 19-inch rack systems. It's compatible with three 12V or 48V versions of the company's D1U power supplies, which together can support up to 4.8kW and 6kW, respectively, for servers, workstations and storage systems using distributed power architectures. The RoHS-compliant S1U-3x facilitates hot insertion/removal of these supplies, and also features a blind docking connection. The DC output is taken from screw terminal lug connections, which accommodate #2 AWG cabling. A separate single connector link facilitates powershelf-to-host communication via the I?C bus.

An optional shelf-to-shelf signal connector can be utilized to interconnect two S1U-3X shelves in parallel. This configuration provides up to 9.6kW at 12V, or up to 12kW at 48V.

Unit pricing for the C&D Technologies S1U is $428.76 in OEM quantities (USA, 100-piece pricing), and delivery is from stock to 14 weeks.
