Avago's MGA-645T6 LNA

Avago Technologies has announced a high-performance LNA in an ultrathin package size. The new MGA-645T6 is an easy-to-use LNA with integrated bypass switch and shutdown function optimized for customer premise equipment and base station equipment used in 802.11b/g, WiMAX, WiBro and satellite digital multimedia broadcasting (S-DMB) applications.

Because of WiMAX's highly volatile transmission environment, LNAs are essential to improve received signal levels in order to ensure system efficiency and data accuracy. With a built-in bypass switch, MGA-645T6 operates in the 2.4GHz spectrum; a follow-on product will support the 3.5GHz spectrum. The LNA delivers an industry-leading low noise figure of 1.1db and superior linearity. This improves the receiver's channel capacity and dynamic range and enables simultaneous WLAN and WiMAX functionality. Additionally, the LNA's shutdown function extends battery life of portable Wi-Fi devices.

Avago's low-profile MGA-645T6 ships in a 2-by-1.3-by-0.4mm package. The product is available today through the company's direct sales channel and worldwide distribution partners.
