Analogix disputes lawsuit charges by Silicon Image

Analogix Semiconductor Inc. denied lawsuit allegations filed against the company by Silicon Image Inc. in a federal court in California. Early this month, Silicon Image filed a lawsuit against Analogix for the alleged infringement of its intellectual property rights.

According to Analogix, the complaint is very limited in its scope and identifies only two of their products—ANX9011 and ANX9021 receivers and associated configuration software. Both receivers employ HDMI 1.2 specification. According to Analogix, the lawsuit does not challenge other Analogix HDMI products or its DisplayPort technology.

The company said that Silicon Image did not detail the basis of its claims in its lawsuit. Adds Analogix, the complaint is based on the fact that their products are pin- and footprint-compatible with Silicon Image implementations.
