NEC has released its UPB1514TU SiGe RFIC switch, which serves as a divide by eight prescaler IC for satellite communications and point-to-point/multipoint radios. The product features a single control voltage design that helps simplify circuitry by eliminating the need for a second control line. The UPB1514TU applications include up and down conversion in Ku-band satellite and terrestrial communications.

The UPB1514TU operates over the 8-16GHz input frequency range with a supply voltage of 4.5-5.5V. Current consumption is 50mA at 5V. The chip also delivers an input power of -5dBm to 6dBm at 13.5-16GHz. The UPB1514TU is delivered in a 2.2-by-2-by-0.5mm TU package.

The device is available today at $2.71 in 10,000 quantities.
