Despite falling memory chip prices, Taiwan's Transcend Information eyes 70-80 percent revenue growth this first quarter. Capitalizing on strong overseas sales, Transcend eyes to hit revenues of $227.6 million to $242.8 million.

Transcend chairman Peter Shu said the company has strong ties with overseas channels, which account for over 50 percent of their sales. The deflation of memory chip prices has not impacted Transcend much because end-product prices are not falling as fast and turnover at channels are quick, adds Shu.

Transcend's revenues grew 18 percent in January due to strong own-brand shipments. For February, the company expects revenues to go down by 20-25 percent due to the long Chinese New Year break. However, the company considers the decline as minor compared to competitors, because of its strong backup on DRAM module and NAND flash shipments.
