EP30HT epoxy from Master Bond

Master Bond Inc. has introduced the EP30HT, a transparent, versatile epoxy for general-purpose bonding, casting, coating and potting.

The company this product combines physical strength and resistance to elevated temperatures and humidity as well as chemical resistance properties, with an optical clarity of over 97 percent spectral transmittance. The service temperature range starts at -50C and reaching to over 205C. The epoxy has moderate viscosity, resulting in easy application, and is suited for potting and casting. The bonded assemblies exhibit superior dimensional stability and shrinkage after cure is a -0.0003 inch.

The EP30HT produces strong, rigid bonds that are resistant to chemicals, including water, oil and most organic solvents. Adhesion to both similar and dissimilar materials including metals, glass, ceramics, wood, vulcanized rubbers and many plastics is excellent, the company said, with shear bond strengths over 3200psi being attained. The hardened adhesive has a volume resistivity greater than 1015 ohm-cm, a dielectric strength of 440V/mil and a dielectric constant of 3.46 at 1MHz.
