IIC-China features the latest products and solutions from the world's top technology companies.

Global Sources opened yesterday its 12th and largest International IC-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China) in Shenzhen. The event will pass by Beijing and Shanghai after Shenzhen, and will run until March 14.

Mark Saunderson, president of Global Sources' electronics business unit, said, "Last year, 12,094 design engineers, and technical and procurement managers attended IIC-China in Shenzhen, up 16 percent on 2005 levels. We expect another record attendance this year, not just in Shenzhen but at all venues of IIC-China."

IIC-China features the latest products and solutions from the world's top technology companies, including Analog Devices Inc. (ADI), Intel, Micron, Microsoft, NEC, NXP Semiconductors, Samsung, Texas Instruments (TI) and Toshiba. The event commenced at the Shenzhen Convention Center, the largest of the three venues. It features 184 exhibitors occupying 496 booths.

New initiatives
This year's event also features new initiatives, including the Electronics Component Pavilion, which is being held for the first time in Shenzhen. This pavilion showcases the latest products and solutions from over 100 component manufacturers at 129 booths, and expects to attract more electronic components buyers from and around the region.

"Shenzhen is at the center of the Pearl River Delta's rapidly growing electronics industry. To meet the growing demand for quality components suitable for export-ready electronics, we are hosting the first-ever Components Pavilion at IIC-China in Shenzhen this year," said Bennie Hui, associate publisher Global Sources eMedia group.

Other events in Shenzhen include the launch of the first Annual Creativity in Electronics Awards, which recognize the most innovative brands and technologies enabling product development in China, and the first-ever Electronics Supply Summit (Shenzhen and Shanghai only), which brings together distributors, software providers, senior executives and authorities in test and standards to meet and discuss supply trends, quality issues and technical support.
