Winbond has introduced the W541 MCU series designed for use in home appliances such as remote controllers, thermometers, pedometers, etc. The new product series promises user convenience with its code programming and editing features.

The W541 series single-chip solution uses the original W741 infrastructure technology, enabling program developers to reuse their original development environments and programming code structures, thereby reducing development time and bringing products to market ahead of competitors. The operating environment for this product is Windows TM 2000/XP, and production quantities are available for the English language version currently provided.

The new W541C480/W541E480 is a low-power and low-noise MCU that can be used in various battery-driven products and low-power applications. Various technological features minimize total power consumption and preserve battery life. The LCD is directly driven and the built-in charge pump improves the display in low-voltage operating environments. The internal protection circuitry fulfils operating requirements for home appliances that require high resistance to interference.

Winbond provides a flash version of this product to simplify the programming and code updating process. This enables system providers to verify their product before moving forward with customization manufacturing, resulting in optimal solutions with full flexibility.
