Aeroflex announced the opening of its Test Applications Group in Shanghai, China, a programming and fixturing facility that supports the Aeroflex 4200 Series, 5200 Series and the 5800 Series automatic test equipment (ATE) systems. The facility will provide support to users in the Asia Pacific region, and has the ability to offer full in-circuit, manufacturing defects analyzer and functional test solutions.

In addition, the new applications group allows Aeroflex ATE customers who have expanded into the low cost manufacturing in APAC the ability to reduce the cost of ongoing capital investment support. The new group can also develop and modify test fixtures and test programs to ensure customers a minimum downtime in the fast moving, high volume manufacturing test environment.

"This new Aeroflex Test Applications Group represents a significant commitment by Aeroflex to its expanding ATE user base throughout the Asia Pacific region and to the Shanghai area in particular. Companies considering the Asia Pacific region for a low cost manufacturing destination can now be supported in local service applications and fixturing bringing about real ongoing cost savings in manufacturing test," said Brian Jeffrey, Worldwide ATE sales manager for Aeroflex.

The company is also partnering with Shanghai's Petracarbon PTE Co. Ltd to offer the Aeroflex 4200 ICT, Aeroflex 5200 MDA, and the Aeroflex 5800 multi-strategy functional test series in test fixturing and test programming. The partnership will allow Aeroflex to locally fabricate standard or customized fixtures with the highest attention to quality and reliability.
