CSR expanded its portfolio of third-party software for its BlueCore5-Multimedia platform. The BlueCore5-Multimedia External is a single-chip radio and baseband IC for Bluetooth systems. The radio interfaces to up to 32Mbits of external flash memory. When used with CSR Bluetooth stack, it provides a Bluetooth system to v2.0+EDR of the specification for data and voice. Phitek's V3D and LFX technologies allow wireless headset manufacturers to combine Bluetooth technology with virtual surround sound and psychoacoustic bass enhancement. CSR has ported Phitek's advanced software to BlueCore5-Multimedia enabling manufacturers to develop high-quality Bluetooth headsets.

Phitek's LFX solution creates the psychoacoustic perception of missing fundamentals for the listener, which improves the apparent bass response of any speaker system. Due to the on-chip DSP, CSR's BlueCore5-Multimedia platform can support third-party audio enhancement software and offers a noise ratio of -95 dB.

The solution is available today.
