Macro Sensors has designed intelligent, microprocessor-based, dual-channel LVDT controllers and indicators that can be used in a variety of industrial measurement and control applications within the petrochemical, power generation, laboratory and manufacturing industries.
Precise measurement
Offering precise measurement for applications using AC- and DC-operated LVDT inputs, the DMC LVDT controllers offer simplified sensor calibration and setup with a scrolling display that guides users on what information to input. The DMC also offers a GUI interface, enabling operators to quickly calibrate and set up sensors, retrieve or send programs and view and collect data remotely through a computer via RS-232 or Ethernet.
The DMC features microprocessor-based logic and advanced software to provide digital position indication and cross-channel math and control functions for advanced monitoring, measuring and control requirements. It features programmable input averaging and digital filtering and HI/LO limit detection for "Go/No-Go" gaging applications for in process gaging, quality control and product sorting. A standard RS-232 communications port works with laptops, data loggers, PLCs and computers. Units offer as standard, four 5A Form A relays that are selectable using the scrolling text menus or the in controller software interface.
Available in both AC and DC versions, the DMC-D2-811 DC controller scrolling meter operates from 115-240Vac or 18-24Vdc and provides proper voltage for operating any standard DC-LVDT. Its DC LVDT input module is designed to drive the signals for two DC-LVDT transducers. Powered from 24Vdc or 120-240Vac, the DMC-A2-811 AC controller provides signal conditioning for two AC-LVDTs encompassing the same operating and control features as its DC counterpart.
Scalable analog output
Both DMC controllers incorporate provisions that supply a scalable analog output to feed external instrumentation, recording or control devices. These devices have six independently programmable set points with eight selectable functions. Offering a six-digit readout, units provide a 0.56mm-high LED front-panel digital display of measured values.
Priced at about one-third lower than competitive units, the DMC units can be fitted on a testing station panel, control cabinets or OEM equipment. An optional Ethernet network capability supports multichannel applications by permitting the interface of multiple units within an automation system.
