Downlink subchannelization for WiMAX
Keywords:WiMAX? OFDMA? Altera? access point? subscriber station?
In orthogonal frequency-division multiple access (OFDMA) systems, multiple end stations or subscriber stations (SSs) transmit at the same time to the access point (AP) or basestation. In the downlink path, the AP splits up the downlink bandwidth into different subchannels. Transmission to each SSs is allocated to one or more subchannels. Downlink subchannelization is the process of amalgamating the data to be transmitted to the different SSs into OFDMA symbols (each symbol occupying the entire downlink bandwidth).
