RadioPulse intros 2.4GHz Zigbee RF module

South Korea-based wireless solutions provider RadioPulse has released the LIME LM2400 family of Zigbee RF modules that integrate an RF transceiver, an 8bit MCU, a protocol software and on-chip flash memory.

The Zigbee module includes three pin-compatible standalone RF modules that operate in the 400MHz and 2.4GHz frequencies. The LIME family supports digital I/O interface so that developer can use the module easily.

LIME LM2400 is based on RadioPulse's MANGO MG2400 Zigbee-ready solution, which integrates 2.4GHz RF transceiver, PHY, modem, MAC and 8bit MCU in a single chip. Compliant to Zigbee and IEEE 802.15.4 standards, the chip operates at 1.5V and has programmable transmit power of up to +7dBm. MANGO also has scalable data rate of 250Kbps to 1Mbps and frequency range of 2,400MHz to 2,483.5MHz.

The single-chip solution has 16-PIN GPIO, UART and SPI interfaces, and a built-in 1.5V regulator. The chip also packs 64Kbyte program memory, 4Kbyte data memory, enhanced 8051 MCU and on/off real-time oscillator.

The Zigbee module supports 2-UART interface, 4-channel ADC, 10-GPIO and two external interrupts. The module also has high receiver sensitivity of 99dBm, operation frequency of 2,400 ~2,485MHz, 2MHz bandwidth and 250Kbps date rate. It also supports selectable chip antenna or cable-form antenna. It features receiver current consumption of 29mA, transceiver consumption of 35mA and sleep current consumption of 9?A.

The module is designed not only for Zigbee applications but also for private wireless networking applications and home automation and security, automatic meter reading, low-power telemetry, healthcare equipment and PC peripherals and toys.
