RapidIO 1.3 spec passes as new ANSI standard

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has approved RapidIO Interconnect Specification 1.3 as a new standard, according to the RapidIO Trade Association.

"The approval of the RapidIO specification as an ANSI standard is further testament to the technology's market momentum," said Tom Cox, executive director of the RapidIO Trade Association. "The ecosystem is strong and OEM developers have a solid based of products for use in their designs."

RapidIO Specification 1.3 was released in June 2005 and is the latest specification by the RapidIO Trade Association.
