Anadigics Inc. has introduced the ZeroIC line of CDMA 1X and 1XEVDO power amplifiers designed to cut average current consumption by up to 50 percent over the company's HELP technology, and up to 85 percent compared to conventional two-stage amplifiers.

ZeroIC products incorporate a new feature that reduces power consumption of the amplifier to zero at low-power levels. Since most handsets transmit at low-power levels in a fully populated network, this feature translates to significant power consumption savings for the handset.

The power-saving features of ZeroIC amplifiers are made possible by Anadigics' InGaP-Plus technology and differentiated design IP. The process integrates switches and amplifier components onto the same die, enabling creative new architectures and solutions for customers.

Measuring 3-by-3mm with a height of 1mm, the products allow designers to create ultraslim and compact products. In addition to small size and power-saving features, ZeroIC devices also integrate an internal voltage regulator to further reduce space and BOM cost.

The ZeroIC family of products includes AWT6331 for U.S. Cellular Band, AWT6332 for PCS Band, AWT6334 for Japan Cell Band and AWT6335 for IMT band.
