Xilinx taps Excelpoint to expand Asian distribution

Xilinx Inc. and Excelpoint Technology Ltd inked a distribution agreement that involves the delivery of all Xilinx FPGAs, CPLDs, development software and intellectual property cores in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

"We are seeing an increasing demand for our programmable logic solutions in the electronic design community across mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan thus, we need another strong distributor to increase our coverage and serve our growing customer base," said Yang Chiah Yee, VP of sales, Xilinx Asia Pacific.

Commenting on the partnership, Excelpoint chairman and group CEO Albert Phuay remarked, "Excelpoint is committed to investing in a team of technical resources including setting up a technical support center in Shanghai to create and develop new opportunities and emerging applications based on Xilinx products."
