Keywords:surface-mount inductors? EMI sensitivity? line-filtering applications?

C&D Technologies has introduced two new ranges of low-profile, drum core, shielded surface-mount inductors. The 2900 and 2900L series are suitable for use in low-power, line-filtering applications including consumer, industrial and telecom applications.

The dimensions of the parts make them useful in designs where PCB real-estate and height are limited. The 2900 series measures 7.2-by-7.2-by-4mm high. The 2900L series has the same footprint but offers a reduced overall height of 3.15mm. An integral shield is a feature of all parts making them appropriate for designs where EMI sensitivity is a concern. Operating temperature range is -40C to 85C.

Both the 2900 and 2900L series are available with inductance values ranging from 1?H to 1mH. All parts are RoHS and J-STD-020-C reflow compliant, and use UL 94V-0 rated materials in their construction. Tape and reel packaging makes the inductors suitable for automated assembly processes.

The inductors are available at 32 cents each in OEM quanities.
