Thin-film resistors from IRC

TT electronics IRC Advanced Film Division has expanded the specifications and chip sizes of its precision chip resistor product line targeting precision circuits in instrumentation, industrial applications, medical equipment, computers, power supplies and telecommunications.

The PCF series features a wide resistance range of 1 ohm to 2 megaohms and power ratings that range from 50mW to 500mW. Maximum working voltage ranges from 25V to 150V, with tolerances to 0.01 percent and TCRs to 5ppm/C. IRC will also produce devices outside these specifications to meet customer requirements.

According to Steve Wade, director of sales and marketing for IRC's advanced film division, the values were extended to meet industry demand. "As applications continue to be miniaturized, customers are requiring components that not only utilize minimal board space, but meet tighter specification," he said. "This extension of our thin film product family enables our customers to use precision chip resistors in a variety of circuit applications."

The PCF series thin-film resistors are available in eight package sizes with RoHS-compliant terminations as well as Sn/Pb terminations. Pricing for the PCF Series precision thin-film chip resistors is 10 cents each in 10,000-unit quantities. Lead time is eight weeks.
