Anritsu Co. has introduced the MS271xB family of economy microwave spectrum analyzers, covering 9kHz to 7.1GHz, 13GHz and 20GHz frequency ranges.

The MS271xB family consists of three models that are cost-effective alternatives for bench testing of microwave components, subsystems and systems used in the wireless, aerospace/defense and university markets. The MS271xB spectrum analyzers have 1Hz to 3MHz RBW, amplitude accuracy better than -1.3dB, and low phase noise of -114dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset. The MS271xB spectrum analyzers can accurately measure most wireless local oscillators and synthesizers. Their superior dynamic range of typically 100dB allows the MS271xB family to quickly and precisely test RF and microwave devices that require exceptional linearity.

Measurement features include RMS detection and channel power ratio measurements, as well as AM/FM demodulation, limit testing and extensive marker functions, including counted markers and marker noise measurements. For EMC pre-compliance testing, the spectrum analyzers have a quasi-peak detector and CISPR bandwidths as standard features.

They also offer a 65dB range input step attenuator and 20W input protection to reduce the potential of damage that can be caused by inexperienced operators. An optional, high-accuracy power meter supports Anritsu's 6GHz PSN50 sensor with 0.16dB power measurement accuracy.

All three models offer optional WCDMA/HSDPA RF measurements and optional IQ demodulation hardware to support WCDMA demodulation. The 7.1GHz MS2717B has an optional tracking generator to support filter and amplifier measurements, as well as optional WiMAX measurements that can be used by Fixed WiMAX equipment manufacturers.

The 9kHz to 7.1GHz (MS2717B) starts at $12,950; the 9kHz to 13GHz (MS2718B) starts at $16,950; and the 9kHz to 20GHz (MS2719B) starts at $19,950.

The 9kHz to 7.1GHz (MS2717B) has a delivery of 10 weeks ARO and the 9kHz to 13GHz (MS2718B) and 9kHz to 20GHz (MS2719B) are 12 weeks ARO.
