Capitalizing on Japan's growing mobile gaming market, NTT DoCoMo Inc. adds a new twist to its handset offerings with the introduction of cellphones equipped with motion sensors to allow users to play games without accessing the keypad.

The D904I model, unveiled this week, is equipped with a motion sensor that allows users to swing the handset like a tennis racket or wield it like sword to control game play. D904I was made by Mitsubishi Electric Corp, reports Reuters.

NTT DoCoMo also introduced two other phones, made by Sharp Corp. and Matsushita Electric Industrial, that uses a camera to detect motion. The operator unveiled a total of five handsets as its new 904i flagship series. All 904i phones come with an option that offers users a second phone number and e-mail address for a monthly fee of $7.96. This service can allow customers to use one number for work and the other for private occasions on the same handset. The product line will become available in Japan on May.

Earlier this year, DoCoMo introduced a phone that features a touch-sensitive screen, as well as a handset that gives off a relaxing scent.
