Test and measurement specialist Anite is partnering with EDA group Mentor Graphics Corp. on a complete verification platform that will provide an integrated and efficient set up to verify baseband SoC designs.

The platform is targeted specifically at applications for handheld wireless devices.

The platform will link Anite's wireless test technology for W-CDMA and High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) applications with Mentor's Veloce range of hardware-assisted verification products to verify base band designs with dynamic, accurate, bidirectional network simulations of embedded systems.

Mentor unveiled the latest additions to its Veloce platform at last month's DATE exhibition and conference in Nice, France.

Key features of the collaboration include seamless connection between the Mentor hardware emulators and Anite wireless testers, test environment supports for W-CDMA and HSPA standards, built-in data generators and customer-specific tests for validation of wireless designs, and fast verification of wireless baseband designs achieved prior to silicon.

The companies have also started joint educational, support and marketing programs to help wireless customers apply the platform to their design verification procedures.
