Stepping up its presence in the Asia-Pacific region, Zetex Semiconductors has opened its first office in Taipei, Taiwan. The new office will focus on providing local customer service and technical support for the company's analog semiconductor solutions and will be managed by newly appointed Taiwan general manager Tim Chen.

"Opening the new office is very much a strategic decision for us," said Hans Rohrer, CEO of Zetex. "The Taiwan market is key to Zetex due to its important role in the design of electronic equipment. We also have a number of very important customers in the region and it's essential for us to be closer to them in order to provide them with the right level of service and support."

Adds Chen, "The opening of the Taiwan office is the latest in a series of moves which will see Zetex continue to extend its support and services with new offices in Asia Pacific, including mainland China, Korea and Taiwan."

Zetex has offices in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China as well as a joint venture factory in mainland China. At present, the company has more than 30 employees in the Asia Pacific region.
