Keywords:ultrasonic acoustic sensor? MEMS technology? MEMS sensor?

Knowles Acoustics has introduced a sensor that detects/receives ultrasonic sound in air using the latest MEMS technology.

Compared to conventional ultrasonic sensors that have a narrow frequency band of detection, the ultrasonic acoustic sensor is suitable for capturing a wide frequency range applicable to a variety of ultrasonic applications: ultrasonic range detection, condition monitoring, fault detection, level sensing and position sensing. The sensor can be used to monitor and detect frequencies from 10kHz to 65kHz with minimal attenuation across the frequency range.

Sampling and low-volume production is available now followed by mass production in the second quarter.
