ADC prevails against high-temp environment

Linear Technology Corp. has developed a 14-bit 2.8MSps SAR ADC that operates at temperatures of up to 125C. The LTC1403AH is powered from a single 2.7-3.6V supply, draws 14mW at 2.8MSps and is available in a small, 10-lead MSOP package. It includes an internal reference, measures a single, differential, 0-2.5V input signal and communicates via a three-wire serial interface. The LTC1403AH is targeted for Automotive applications such as gas sensors and accelerometer sensing, as well as for baseband radar measurements.

The LTC1403AH features 5MHz of full linear bandwidth and achieves 76.3dB SINAD and -90dB SFDR at 100kHz. While measuring 0-2.5V unipolar inputs differentially, the ADC's 80dB CMRR allows users to reduce the effects of ground loops and common mode noise. When not converting, power dissipation can be reduced to 3mW in nap-mode, with the internal 2.5V reference remaining active and 6?W with all internal circuitry powered down in sleep-mode.

Pricing starts at $9.65 each in 1,000-piece quantities.
