Shanghai Hua Hong NEC Electronics Company Ltd has announced the availability of its 0.18?m embedded EEPROM process. As part of value added services, Hua Hong NEC also offers silicon-verified memory macro IPs and many other special IPs based on this process technology.

The Embedded Nonvolatile Memory is one of Hua Hong NEC's strategic niche technology platform offerings. Its 0.35?m embedded EEPROM, 0.35?m embedded OTP and 0.25?m embedded flash have been in mass production for several years.

Extending its technology offering in embedded NVM, Hua Hong NEC has developed its enhanced 0.18?m embedded EEPROM process. Compared to similar technology, this process technology offers high reliability and more competitive leverage in memory macro IP sizes. It can be used in smart card, RFID, MCU and other applications. With its high reliability and stability, the 0.18?m embedded EEPROM process is claimed to be suitable for products requiring high information security such as bank card, RFID and e-passport. Other special devices, such Schottky diode, are also available in the platform.

To help customers to reduce their time to market, Hua Hong NEC also offers silicon-proved memory macro IPs with different configurations and many other analog IPs. Many of these IPs are designed for smart card applications. Hua Hong NEC can also provide customized IP, based on customer's request, to offer more flexibility, shorter cycle-time and cost effective designs.
