Video server provider Mango DSP has developed the Pegasus reference design for IP camera manufacturers. The technical blueprint is based on Texas Instruments' DaVinci technology running ObjectVideo Inc.'s OnBoard software.

Using Mango's Pegasus reference design will help camera manufacturers quickly and easily integrate OnBoard's video content analysis capabilities into IP cameras.

ObjectVideo's OnBoard allows OEMs to embed intelligent video into a wide variety of devices. It provides comprehensive capabilities and packages them as embedded firmware powered by Texas Instruments' TMS320DM6446, based on DaVinci technology, inside many video network devices.

The Pegasus delivers an open API with integration of ObjectVideo's analytic software with DaVinci technology. It is equipped with a Micron CMOS sensor and packaged in a very small form factor.

The Pegasus is compatible with leading video codecs such as MPEG-4 and H.264 with high resolution capabilities, including the option to extract megapixel JPEG images. It supports applications such as video streaming, analytics, onboard storage options and USB connectivity.
