Honeywell licenses LCD tech to 5 firms

Honeywell has granted five companies rights for its patented technology that increases the brightness and image quality on LCD products.
The agreements provide Casio Computer, Arima Display, TPO Displays, Philips and former subsidiary Philips Mobile Display Systems, as well as Seiko Epson and subsidiary Epson Imaging Devices rights for Honeywell's LCD technology in the design and manufacture of performance products. Terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
"Honeywell's technology helps companies provide the high-quality images that consumers expect in mobile telephones, cameras, and MP3 players, among other products," said Loria Yeadon, CEO, Honeywell Intellectual Properties Inc.
Honeywell previously entered into similar agreements with Sharp, Samsung Electronics, LG.Philips, Sony Corp., Toshiba, Toshiba Matsushita Display, Sanyo Electric, Sanyo Epson Imaging Devices, Chunghwa Picture Tubes, NEC LCD Technologies, Chi Mei Optoelectronics, AU Optronics, HannStar Display, Quanta Display and International Display Technology.
