O2Micro wins battery charging patent

O2Micro International Ltd has been issued 16 claims under U.S. patent number 7,202,634 for its high-accuracy voltage mode battery charging invention, a continuation of the invention issued March 2005 under patent number 6,861,823.

Alex Hartular, O2Micro VP, said, "Continuation of this key patent allows O2Micro to develop next generation power management solutions by adding the adapter power in the battery charger control loop. This new feature will enhance our charger product family."

O2Micro's patented battery charging IC architecture provides accurate charging and charge termination, offering the design community higher charge accuracy, simplified loop compensation and lower parts count, compared to other solutions available on the market today.
