Strategic Test has unrolled what it claims as the industry's fastest digital I/O boards for PCIe. With up to 32 channels, recording or replay rates of up to 125MHz, and allowing synchronization of up to 127 boards, including digitizers and arbitrary waveform generators, the device enables the creation of large mixed-mode ATEs for electronic sub-assemblies and digital semiconductor components.

There are four new boards in the UF2e-7000 series: UF2e-7010 (125MHz on 16 channels), UF2e-7011 (125MHz on 16bits or 60MHz on 32 channels), UF2e-7020 (125MHz on 32 channels) and UF2e-7021 (125MHz on 32bits or 60MHz on 64 channels).

The digital I/O channels can be software selected for input or output in 16 channel increments. The UF2e-7020 and UF2e-7021 are also able to record and replay simultaneously. All inputs and outputs are TTL-compatible.

External clock and trigger connectors are provided. A wide variety of bit and pattern trigger conditions can also be set.

The standard boards feature 64Mbytes of onboard memory. This can be expanded to 4Gbytes for the longest recording and replay times, even at the maximum clock rates. At slower clock rates, data can be streamed to or from the host PC.

One unique feature of the device is that the board can be equipped with a second user-selected quartz crystal oscillator for applications that require a highly accurate specific output rate.

Strategic Test provides the software support with the following software development kits available for Windows Vista and XP64, XP, 2000, NT and 98, Linux drivers for RedHat, Suse, Fedora and Debian, Matlab, LabVIEW, Agilent-VEE, LabWindows/CVI and DASYLab.

Pricing for the devices starts at $3,390. All UltraFast boards are supplied with the free SBench software that allows users to record or replay digital waveforms without programming. SBench is available for both Windows and Linux.
