At Computex Taipei, Intel Corp. demonstrated a Serial Digital Video Output (SVDO) platform that uses the Silicon Image VastLane SiI1392 HDMI transmitter. The new platform promises fast performance, superior video and high-quality HDMI audio.
The desktop PC demonstration used an Intel G35 Express chipset with ViewSonic's VX2435wm, a 24-inch widescreen multifunctional HDMI LCD monitor with true 1080p support. The VX2435wm is said to be the market's first desktop LCD monitor featuring true 1080p support.
VastLane SiI1392 enables PC makers to use a single digital transmitter to connect to the large and rapidly growing base of HDMI-equipped PC monitors, as well as existing DVI PC LCD monitors and HDTVs with HDMI inputs.
