Nokia, ARM among companies in Accellera board

EDA standards organization Accellera has elected 14 Corporate-Member companies to its Board of Directors for the 2007-2008 membership year.

Considering that semiconductor, IP, system and EDA companies play a key role in developing new electronic design standards, Accellera announced its board will gather ARM Ltd, Nokia, Cadence Design Systems, Denali Software Inc., Freescale Semiconductor, IBM, Intel Corp., Magma Design Automation, Mentor Graphics, Novas, Rockwell Collins, Sun Microsystems, Synopsys Inc. and Texas Instruments.

"Accellera's goal is to improve electronic design productivity through open standards, while creating a level playing field for all participants," declared Shrenik Mehta, Accellera chair, in a statement. "It is advantageous that we have a balance of semiconductor, IP, systems houses and EDA companies represented on our Board."

Companies like Aldec, Inc., Archpro Design Automation, Azuro, Inc., Certess Inc., Jasper Design Automation, OneSpin Solutions, Silvaco, SpringSoft, Inc., STMicroelectronics, Toshiba and Xilinx also bring additional industry perspective to Accellera standards as Associate Members.
