Mobile tuner enhances One-Seg reception

Panasonic Electronic Devices Co. Ltd claims that its CTMW02 digital terrestrial mobile tuner for One-Seg broadcasting features the industry's highest sensitivity, low power consumption and compact size.

The new product offers a receiving sensitivity of -109dBm (one system operation) and -112dBm (diversity operation), which is claimed to be the highest in the industry.

According to Panasonic, the new device also promises low power consumption, which is suitable for mobile products. During normal mode operation, it features a power consumption of 115mW for one system circuitry. At low power mode, it has 100mW power consumption for one system circuitry.

The CTMW02 device is also compact, offering a single-package module comprised of two tuners and one demodulator LSI. Applications include mobile phones, PDAs and portable A/V devices.

Samples of the device are now available. Pricing for the module is at $126.
