ASIC design foundry VeriSilicon Inc. will soon offer software that implements the full range of DTS audio technologies for its ZSP G2 family of DSP cores under a strategic collaboration agreement with DTS Inc. The software, including DTS Digital Surround and DTS-HD Master audio, is currently under development and will be available to DTS licensees later this year.
The ZSP G2 family of licensable processors features a four-way superscalar architecture capable of supporting a wide range of applications. The processors have already been adopted in Blu-ray and HD DVD devices.
In a related announcement, VeriSilicon unveiled a deal to license SRS Labs' Wow HD and TurSurround HD technologies for its VZ audio and G1 ZSP family of DSP cores. Through the licensing, VeriSilicon aims to provide a complete end-to-end audio SoC solution based on its ZSP G1 family of DSP cores.
Both SRS WOW HD and SRS TruSurround HD have been ported to the ZSP400 but are also compatible with ZSP G1 cores. Both technologies are also available on the ZSPneo, ZSP210 and ZSP410. VeriSilicon's SRS WOW HD and SRS TruSurround HD implementations have been certified by SRS Labs and are now available to manufacturers.
