Open-frame DC/DC converters handle up to 40W output

The Bel Power division of Bel Fuse Inc. has announced the addition of the SRSB-40U Series of isolated DC/DC converters to their growing portfolio of isolated and non-isolated power DC/DC converters for high-speed networking, telecommunications and computing applications.

The 1/16 brick (1.3 x 0.9-inch footprint) parts are capable of delivering up to 40W of output power at higher voltages, or up to 18A of output current at an output of 1.2V. The low-cost devices are designed to operate efficiently over a 4:1 input range of 18-75Vdc, facilitating their employment on boards with industry standard bus voltages of 24-, 48- or 60V. Notably, their ultrawide input range permits the use of single power system designs which are capable of operating in an extensive array of environments. The Series is RoHS 6/6 compliant, and carries a full set of international safety approvals including UL, UL60950 and IEC/EN60950.

The open frame construction of the SRSB-40U Series, combined with its input voltage range and footprint of less than 1.2-inch?, makes it highly appropriate for use in a wide assortment of telecom, networking, wireless and industrial designs requiring tight inter-board spacing. Among the modules' most common employment is on PCBs in mobile/optical switches, high capacity network routers, high-end datacom and medical systems, as well as in a variety of systems using distributed power architecture.

Bel Power's new converters boast fixed frequency synchronous rectification control for high efficiency, together with positive/negative remote sense, remote on/off logic, and ±10 percent output trim. Protection features include input and output over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, current limit and short circuit protection, and under voltage lockout. The parts are available in both SMT and through-hole designs and in seven distinct output voltages ranging from 1.2V to 12V. They are provided with either active-high or active-low on/off polarity. Modules operate over an ambient temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.

Pricing for Bel's SRSB-40U Series of isolated DC/DC converter starts at $24.95 each in quantities of 1,000. The standard lead time for quantity orders is from stock to 12 weeks. Samples are available immediately.
