O2Micro International Ltd was issued 12 claims under U.S. patent number 7,236,020 for its Pulse Translation Power Driving Techniques in both full and half bridge inverter applications.

"This patented technique provides a reliable drive methodology and minimizes cost of IC design for inverter controllers for LCD applications," said Yung Lin, O2Micro executive VP.

Patented Power Driving Techniques employ a specific pulse translation method to supply power to cold cathode fluorescent lamp circuitry in full or half-bridge inverter applications. This method minimizes power dissipation to illuminate LCDs used in LCD monitor, LCD TV, notebook computer and other display applications.
