3.2Mpixel image processor has JPEG encoder

Nethra Imaging has introduced a 3.2Mpixel image processor with JPEG encoder that fits into a 5mm x 6mm package for small camera module designs and handsets.

The core architecture of the NI-2065/66 is based on Nethra's second-generation scalable real-time image processing pipeline, which has been optimized to work with small-pixel size sensors to achieve print-level image quality with pixels as small as 1.75?m.

The imaging pipeline has been designed to work at 75Mpixels per second, giving up to 20fps throughput at 3.2Mpixel still capture (sensor dependent), and greater than 30fps at 1280 x 720p HD resolution video capture. The JPEG encoder enables the NI-2065/66 to work with baseband, multimedia and applications processors that have camera ports running at slower speed.

The NI-2065/66 is available in a choice of the 5mm x 6mm, 68-pin package or a 7mm x 7mm, 84-pin package. The device is shipping in volume.
