Modular jacks shrink for Fast Ethernet, GbE apps
Keywords:modular jacks? GbE applications? Fast Ethernet?
Erni Electronics has expanded its modular jack line to include low-profile versions with integrated magnetic filters for Fast Ethernet and GbE applications. With a small footprint, these network connectors have been designed for heavy-duty applications; are resistant to electromagnetic faults, and are designated for use in compact RJ-45 applications compliant with 10/100 or 10/100/1000 Base-T (Gigabit) Ethernet.
The modular jacks are configured to deliver voltage insulation and performance that comply with FCC and IEEE 802.3 standards. In addition, an 8-core design with capacitors and resistors meets all GbE requirements in switches or hub products, according to Erni.
The low-profile modular jacks are available in angled single-port versions and are equipped with integrated LEDs for status display. The network plugs are RoHS compatible and meet the requirements of IEC 60603-7. They can be processed using lead-free wave soldering methods at temperatures of up to 270C and the single-port versions with integrated magnetic filters feature shielding flanges at the top and on both sides for grounding.
The device is available now.
