At the 7th Embedded Systems Conference-Taiwan event, Faraday Technology Corp. will showcase its latest platform-based solutions under four demo themes namely, H.264 IP video phone solution, WiMedia UWB MAC solutions, ARM FPGA platform and ARM SoC development platform.

During the two-day event, Faraday will showcase three new products including the FIE8180, FTUWBM100 and FPGACompanion platforms.

The FIE8180 is a highly integrated H.264/MPEG-4/JPEG codec SoC platform using max. 500MHz FA626 ARM-based CPU, targeting IP video phone, video door phone, IP surveillance and IPTV station applications. The solution delivers D1 duplex video at up to 60fps. Its software design kit plus the hardware reference design help customers accelerate the development of their video and voice streaming media-related products.

Faraday's FTUWBM100 solution is a WiMedia-compliant UWB MAC and baseband processor IP, which enables 200Mbps+ wireless transfer rate and lowers pin counts by integrating UWB MAC into SoC. With the flexibility of FTUWBM100, customers are assured with minimal time-to-market and optimized cost-performance tradeoff, said Faraday. The device is a well-suited UWB solution for applications such as wireless USB HWA/DWA, HDTV video streaming, wireless I394 and wireless portable media players.

Faraday will also demonstrate its FPGACompanion product, a highly integrated SoC that integrates a 190MHz ARM v4 compatible ISA CPU and peripherals, with an ARM AMBA 2.0 AHB transaction bridge. The integrated SoC enables direct connectivity to the external FPGA device.

Faraday will also present on the topic "Light Up the Digital HomeH.264 Internet Video Solutions" by Joy Su, ISP product marketing director of multimedia business unit. Faraday will discuss H.264 Internet video solutions and the trend and challenges for digital home applications. The seminar will be held on Aug. 24.
