Phoenix Display International Inc. has introduced a new line of 2.2-inch TFTs with QCIF+ (176 x 220) resolution. These sunlight-readable LCDs offer high brightness, contrast and color saturation with exceptional transflective properties for outdoor applications.

PDI achieves these qualities by manufacturing the TFT cell using high aperture panel technology, high transmittance color filters and high transmission polarizers. The result is a clear and extremely bright display that is suitable for high ambient light or outdoor, high brightness applications.

PDI's sunlight-readable 2.2-in QCIF+ TFT has found a suitable home in the sureshotgps, a portable golf tool manufactured by Tee2Green Technologies. "The sureshotgps is a superior device for measuring distances from tee to green," said Peter Sim, co-founder of Tee2Green Technologies. "Having a bright and sunlight-readable display is paramount to the sureshotgps's success and acceptance among golfers worldwide."

PDI's sunlight-readable model of the 2.2-in QCIF+ TFT (model M1360T021) is illuminated with four white side LEDs and offers brightness of 400cd/m? (typical). This model also utilizes an LGDP4522 LCD controller and driver.

Pricing for Phoenix Display's sunlight-readable 2.2-in QCIF+ TFT module is $19.95 each in 5,000 quantities.
