TV, mobile to get a dose of Armani haute couture

Noted fashion designer Giorgio Armani and Samsung Electronics announced they have partnered to design a television, cellphone and other consumer electronics, according to a Reuters report.

The companies disclosed that the new Armani-Samsung handset will be the size of a credit card and 10.5mm thick. Armani launched the new handset at his womenswear for spring and summer 2008 show while LCD TV is slated to be unveiled in January 2008.

Armani joins other top designers that have teamed up with mobile phone manufacturers like Dolce & Gabbana with Motorola for a gold-colored version of the RAZR handset and Prada with South Korea's LG Electronics. In March, Philips and Swarovski teamed up to provide 'fashion electronics' products such as sound accessories and storage devices.
